Throughout history, some of the most used products weren't always the best ones. They were the ones that everyone knew about and ones that were readily accessible. Microsoft is a great example. The Windows operating system in its early stages was certainly not as user friendly as Apple's Macintosh. They followed this marketing strategy up with exclusive partnerships with various application providers and hardware manufacturers.
